September is the New “New Year”: Reinvention, Vision & Mastery in Motion

There’s something about September that carries the pulse of a new year.
Even more than January, this month ushers in a powerful transition from summer spaciousness into structure, reflection into action. The air shifts. Kids go back to school. Calendars fill. Organizations kick off Q4 initiatives.
And for coaches, it’s go-time because… over 60% of annual investment in organizational Talent & Team Development happens between mid-September and late November.
That number doesn’t include the numerous leaders and entrepreneurs who are seeking to build their teams, balance burnout, strategically drive and inspire performance, grow businesses… all while navigating a global period of unrest, distrust, and extreme change. Coaches are NEEDED.
If you work with leaders or inside companies, you already know:
Q4 is the busiest time of the year.
It’s a season of reinvention, re-ignition, and realignment. The clients and businesses who spent summer reflecting and resting are now ready to move and they’re looking to their advisors, mentors, coaches, “board of directors” for clarity, partnership, and support.
But here’s the thing:
Success Requires Structure, Especially in Times of Hustle
“We don’t rise to the level of our goals; we fall to the level of our systems,” says James Clear. And the best systems contain:
A clear, compelling vision for yourself and your business (What’s the experience of success you’d like to have, and how do you define it?)
The right support structure to stay grounded in the chaos (Who are the people that interrupt the patterns and stand for your highest and best?)
Tools to spot where you're leaking time, energy, and integrity (Where are your power leaks, or what do you complain about most right now?)
Space to not just serve, but also grow (What are the skills, qualities, and ways of being you’re focusing on deepening this season?)
Because while Q4 can be a time of busyness and abundance, it’s also the best time to recommit to your mastery, internally and externally. After all, Mastery happens in Moments, if we’re willing to take the space to practice.
For Coaches: Business Growth and Self-Growth
Here’s what I’ve seen after working with hundreds of coaches at every level:
Fall is “Harvest time” - when the most courageous growth happens.
This is when possibility burns brightest in:
Reconnecting with your network
Showing up with thought leadership and vulnerability
Designing and creating aligned clients
Building momentum—not just revenue
It’s a season of visibility with depth of doing business in a way that reflects your values, your relationships, and makes a meaningful impact.
Why IGNITE Mastery and Coaching Mastery Matters
I created IGNITE Mastery as a spiritual outpouring of what I saw sadly missing from our industry, and what I craved to have myself: A combination of unconditional community, shared standards of excellence, immersive practice, and rigorous stand for our talents and goals.
Coaching is still the second fastest growing field in the WORLD, only second to technology. Companies are recognizing that standards of excellence, ethics, and training matters. Credentials, education, supervision, and mentoring matters.
Because the truth is:
Coaching Mastery begins with self-mastery. It happens inside the reflections of our strengths and our limits, and stepping into safe and strong containers that support us to explore and surpass those limits.
IGNITE Mastery is a container to go further, deeper, TOGETHER. It’s about both the being and the doing, and the concept that true Mastery transcends traditional frameworks, tools, and techniques. It’s a space where you:
Deepen your presence and craft
Get strategic about credentialing (PCC or MCC, here we come!)
Align your business with your values
Surround yourself with coaches committed to excellence
And the credentials? Let’s just say:
MCC coaches are paid more in organizations that value certification
Only ~4% of ICF credentialed coaches hold an MCC (It is the PhD of coaching)
And yes, IGNITE is officially approved for 40 CCEs, 10 Mentor Hours, and affiliated with a Level 3 program. (It is your 1-stop shop to MCC or for credentialing renewal!)
Now Is the Time
If you've felt the nudge, the restlessness, or the clarity that it’s time to step into your next chapter as a coach, this is your moment.
Set the vision.
Strengthen your structure.
Surround yourself with people who see your brilliance and call you forward.
The next IGNITE cohort kicks off in January, with meet-ups and resources provided this fall. Explore or join the conversation here (https://www.coachingwithlp.com/ignite) and let's make this your season of mastery.
